Drugs Kill

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was commemorated in June by organizing a Poster Making Camp to create awareness against drugs and narcotics. Mr. Venugopal G. Kurup( SP-Narcotics Cell) who spoke on the occasion, expressed his concern about the alarming trend of drug usage in the city.

Practice Personal Hygiene

A very informative talk on girls ' health and hygiene was conducted by a well-known NGO: Centre for Hygiene, Research and Development( CHR) in June. The speaker Mrs. Jesna Shivashankar who addressed all the girl students from grade 7 upwards, highlighted various helpful health facts on proper hygiene and sanitation. The school has installed napkin dispensers in the girls rest rooms.

The Magic of Stories

Stories and more, an interactive workshop was conducted by Kusumika Chatterjee, a renowned educator, legendary storyteller & Queens Award winner from Coventry, United Kingdom for teachers in July. Teachers experienced modules in expression, voice modulation and mudras as well as tips on how puppets could be used effectively.

Food Chat

The school was privileged to have Jean Batchlor, Principal Examiner of Food & Nutrition, Cambridge University to interact with the Food & Nutrition students of Grades 9 & 10, GPS-International in August 2016. Ms. Jean, discussed methods and shared tips to convert low skill dishes into high skill ones. The session helped students to understand how best to approach the Food and Nutrition Cambridge examinations.
