This is the movie she referred to as her 'break'. After this Bette went on to do many more movies and she was a sassy lady, with eyes that every woman envied. Bette had a very successful career and she starred in movies, "Whatever happend to baby Jane?" and "All About Eve". Bette was noted for her willingness to play unsympathetic characters and she did so with great talent and success. Bette won two Acadamy Awards and nominated for 10. Sadly, Bette died in 1989, October 6th at the age of 81 because of terminal breast cancer. She had a fantastic career and she was loved by everyone.

Bette Davis was a 1930's movie star. She was born in Massachusetts, 1908. Bette was born Ruth Elizabeth Davis but she changed her name to Bette Davis after she watched a French film with the star called Bette. Her mother encouraged her to follow her dreams of being an actress as she had dreamed of being an actress also when she was younger. Bette grew up acting in local plays and earned her big break in 1932 when Warner Brothers gave her a lead in the movie "The Man Who Played God".
