Alzheimer’s Association
The First Survivor is Out There
T
here are more than 60,000 people living
with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia
in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Add
to that the number of family members
and other caregivers who face the daily
challenges of helping those with the disease,
and the number surpasses 180,000. These
are the people the Alzheimer’s Association

San Diego/Imperial Chapter serves, but not only them. For the
thousands of people who have or will have Alzheimer’s but have
yet to show symptoms, the Association’s services will be critical to
enhancing their quality of life, and if successful, contribute to the
ultimate goal of finding a cure.
The services offered by the Alzheimer’s Association encompass a
wide range of activities in our community, including in-person care
