T.H.I.N.K. by Rebecca Moore “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” - Maya Angelou School and fall sports are in full swing. This also means you are sharing your thoughts and pictures about fellow classmates, teachers, principals and boys. I mean this is the technology age where our diaries are basically all the social media sites we are part of. Who doesn’t love technology? We can share some of our greatest moments with the world, but unfortunately we can also have our most embarrassing moments shared. Which in turn can make us feel ashamed, rejected and feeling like our whole world is just crashing down. What can we do to be proactive instead of reactive? How can we be more technology responsible? What if I told you it was super easy? All you have to do is THINK before you speak, text or type. THINK stands for is True, Helpful, Important, Necessary, Kind? If not then don’t speak it, text it or type it. I promise you if you use THINK while you are on social media or texting that you will see less drama and more people will remember you for the kindness that you showed them. “Change your thoughts and you change your world.” - Vincent Peake You say well it’s too late. I am already known for the things I tweet. Really? It is never to late to change. It is never too late to THINK. It is never too late to say you are sorry. Words are a powerful tool. If we use them correctly they can change the world. That’s right you could change the world. Don’t believe me. Check out thinktoday.org/ blog and read about Elissa McCracken and Randi Sundquist. Both of these girls experienced bullying and chose to take that horrible experience and become proactive because of their dedication they have changed and touched many young girl’s lives across the nation. Here’s a challenge for you. Make a poster with THINK on it. Take a picture of yourself and tweet it to @thinktodayorg and we will retweet it. Then for a week look at your picture and really use THINK when you are on social media. Then share your story with us and we will share your story. We want to spread that word that THINK helps life in a social media world be drama free and inspiring! #THINK
