Internet Shop:
An Internet Shop is an online website that sells products online only. Internet shops do not have a highstreet presence. When you return an item you have to send it back to the warehouse via the post office.
Examples would be Asos, Pretty Little Thing and Boohoo.com.
Independent Retailer:
An Independent Retailer is a stand alone store or several stores.They are not chains or a franchises. It is a store that has up to 3 locations and owned by an individual, a partnership or a family.
Examples of Independant Retailers are Pussycat, Small Cafes and Individual Boutiques.
Multiple Store:
A Multiple store is a chain of 10 or more branches, they attract many customers as consumers know what they are likely to buy. A Multiple store set-up can have various locations across the UK, or across a particular country.
Examples of a Multiple store are Topshop, Marks And Spencers and Boots.
Supermarket:
A large store, that mainly sells groceries, but they can also sell other goods. Some supermarkets sell items such as clothing, electricals, home wear and stationary. They are mainly large chains and they sell both their own products as well as other brands.
Examples of a Supermarket are Sainsburys, Tescos and Asda.
Not for Profit:
A Not for Profit store is likely to be a charity shop that does not earn profits for its owner. All of the money raised is invested in purchasing or delivering the organisations objectives.
Examples of a Not for Profit store would be are British Heart Foundation, WWF and Oxfam.
Public Place Retailer:
Located in public places like train stations, parks, museums and airports.
Examples of a Public Place Retailer is Duty Free, cafes in parks and news agents at train stations
