A MESSAGE FROM CAROLE VIVIER
On behalf of Manitoba Film & Music, thank you for attending the
Gimli Film Festival!
This is a very exciting time for Manitoba’s film and television
industries. Our province is seeing more film production than ever
before, which is having an unprecedented economic and cultural
impact. Last year, Manitoba’s production volume reached $173
million and created over 1,900 full time jobs. As a result of this
growth, we are seeing the emergence of more local directors and
creators that represent Manitoba’s incredible diversity. Festivals
like this help support our local creators by promoting films,
developing filmmakers and building an audience for quality work.
Carole Vivier
CEO & Film Commissioner
Manitoba Film & Music
We hope that during the festival you will see the films of some of
our fantastic local filmmakers and take pride in what is created
right here in our province.
