Welcome to the 2018 Gimli Film Festival!
Arts and culture, including film, have a lasting power to enrich our
lives and bring us together.
Our government is proud to invest in Canadian artists and their
stories. This is why we are pleased to support the Gimli Film
Festival, which gives Canadian filmmakers opportunities to
showcase their work alongside outstanding international films.
Manitoba’s largest film festival promises to entertain and engage
audiences of all backgrounds with films that highlight our diversity
and offer new perspectives and ideas.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage, I would like to congratulate
the organizers and volunteers who have made this year’s event
possible, as well as the filmmakers who enlighten and inspire us. I
wish everyone an exciting and rewarding Festival.

On behalf of all Manitobans, we are pleased to welcome those
attending the 2018 Gimli Film Festival, a celebration of artistic
expression and appreciation in the scenic beauty of our province’s
Interlake community.

This Festival gives audience members of all ages a unique
opportunity to experience movie magic, from concept development
to screening, while also enjoying wonderful community hospitality
and the sheer novelty of enjoying a film on the beach.
Successfully staging such an innovative event each year is a huge
challenge. We join all Manitobans in thanking the many dedicated
volunteers for the work they do in order to ensure the Festival
continues to be the exciting, entertaining event that it is.
