Operations Highlights
Conducted 16 American Heart Association Heartsaver classes, which provided training
in CPR and AED.
Received the new Engine 2 and put it into operation.
Provided SEEK Thermal Imagers to the Administrative Chiefs.
Participated in the Ft. Worth Health and Safety Symposium.
Acquired land for new Station 2 and Station 3.
Acquired new state of the art air packs to meet industry standards and to provide a
safer environment for the users.
Participated in the regional Big X evaluation for Urban Search and Rescue Teams.
Participated in the Line of Duty Death Symposium.
Initiated a minor tool and equipment in-house repair program.
Initiated an Accident Review Board.
Initiated a Lost, Damaged, or Stolen of city property committee.
Selected architects and the construction management company for remodeling of
stations 1 and 4.
Changed Battalion 56 to Battalion 1.
Over 30 Public Education Clown programs delivered.
Received the STAR EMS Award from Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine
for exceptional care of patients.
Grapevine Alarm upgraded to dispatch medical calls utilizing APCO medical screening.
New fire department website launched.
Department was re-organized with the addition of a Division Chief of Training.
Donated the reserve Quint to Tarrant County College.
Received the Mission Lifeline Gold Plus Award for STEMI activations and cardiac care.
Graduated 3 members from Paramedic School.
Launched the life jacket program on Grapevine Lake.
Fire Administration moved into the new Public Safety Building.
Participated in the response to Hurricane Harvey – deployed 21 members in different
capacities including emergency management, EMS, fire, logistics, and Task Force
activations.
