From the business profile , the Instagram Insights can be accessed . The Insights allows the business see “ total impressions ” for the past seven days , which posts have been most popular , reach , engagement , and impression for every single post as well as the follower activity which shows when a business ’ s followers are most active on Instagram , what gender , age , and location they are etc .

Above is an example of an Instagram advert in the three different formats : photo , video , and carousel . Notice how all three formats have the word “ sponsored ” in the top right corner . This informs the viewer that he or she is looking at an ad and not just a regular photo or post . On the video ad , a symbol of a speaker in the bottom left corner indicates that this ad is a video and the user can press play to view it . On the carousel ad , a dotted symbol in the bottom right corner indicates that there are more pictures to be viewed and the user can swipe right to see the remaining pictures in the ad . In all three ads , the viewer / user has the option to press the “ Learn More ” link under the ad to be guided to the action that the business wants him or her to take .
