Listen to them. Talking about the breakup will help them heal, but do not let them overanalyze the relationship.
Be their voice of reason. Guide them when they want to retaliate, seek revenge, or do stupid things.
Distract them. Invite them to hang out and do activities together that will remind them that life is still fun.
Be positive and encouraging. Their self-esteem may be suffering from the breakup.
