VILLA MOCENIGO
Villa Mocenigo is a Venetian mansion situated in the Riviera del Brenta. It is located on the
right bank of the river Naviglio Brenta. It is the home to the International Center for studies
on the tourist economy Ca ' Foscari University.
HISTORY ➔
The Mocenigo family had considerable interests in the riviera especially around Dolo, where
between five and six hundred built mills and other factories. Subsequently wanted to realize a
building at Oriago, perhaps based on a previous building. Most scholars believe the
eighteenth-century villa (misses much consensus Baldan's hypothesis that dates back to
1660-1663). More recently it passed to Daisy and Zara; It is currently owned by the
municipality of Mira, from 1991 to 2018 was granted at the Ca ' Foscari University as the seat
of the Centro Internazionale di Studi sull'economia Turistica

The Palace has only two floors and fifteen axes; its development is therefore predominantly
horizontal, characteristic emerged clearly from bands and marcadavanzale. The main front is
open to the Northwest, towards the Canal.
