Communication is key
There are so many ways for a brand to get through to their audience- but not every option is right for every audience.
irritating, they draw the customer’s interest through interesting subject titles and through offers they just can’t refuse. Lastly, UO are popular for their collaborations with different brands. They do this in order to create new pieces which will appeal to their target audience. Additionally, working with well-known (and loved) brands, UO is creating more awareness for their brand and will attract even more customers within their target audience (and maybe entice In a few from outside their specific market).
An example of a collaboration is the Lil’ Yachty X NAUTICA X Urban Outfitters menswear collection. The choice of this rap artist combined with the brand Nautica is tactful because they both appeal to a younger audience and so the collaboration Is more likely to be successful.
In contrast, Chanel is a high end brand which broadcasts their fashion in a different way. Their main channels of communication include catwalks, TV Advertisements, billboards and magazine editorials. Although the brand does use social media as a way of communication (i.e through Instagram and Twitter), it is not their main method of communication.
On their Twitter and Instagram pages you will find some photos of ready-to-wear collections, updates and news about the brand as well as any other general information about Chanel.
In comparison to Urban Outfitters, Chanel has quite a direct audience and they simply have an overall specific concept for their brand; because Urban Outfitters tends to sell what is in trend, the type of products they sell are always varying whereas Chanel, as a high-end brand, will always know what its audience wants and will continue to provide that.
This means that fashion shows, public advertisements and magazine editorials can remain traditional and classic and still be successful in communicating well with their audience.
