Parole Board Enhances Public Safety For FIFA Fans

The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles joined local, state, and federal law enforcement this summer to ensure the FIFA World Cup matches in Atlanta were the best experience ever for fans who came to the U.S. from around the world.
Thirty-eight (38) POST certified officers with the Parole Board served during the three events.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors safely enjoyed the events.
"Years from now, when people talk about the FIFA World Cup coming to Georgia, we can say that we answered the call, stood alongside our fellow officers, and helped protect our state and the countless visitors who came to experience this historic event," stated Chris Barnett, Executive Director of the Georgia Board.
"Throughout the event, our officers received overwhelming praise from members of the public, fellow law enforcement agencies, and event organizers. Time and again, I heard comments about our team's professionalism, positive attitude, willingness to help, and the exceptional way they represented both the State of Georgia and the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles," Barnett added.
