International Parole Conference in Atlanta

Atlanta hosted the Association of Paroling Authorities International (APAI) 2025 Annual Training Conference May 18-21, 2025.
The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles served as the host committee preparing for more than a year to make the conference one to remember. Parole practitioners from across the U.S. and from several countries attended the four-day conference in Atlanta.
Jonathan Ogletree is President of APAI.
"The conference held in Atlanta this year fulfilled the theme, 'From Evidence to Action: Innovations in Parole.' Conferences are more than just gatherings; they're a chance to network, learn, innovate, and get inspired," said Ogletree.
According to Ogletree, a quote that encapsulates this experience is from Franklin D. Roosevelt: "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today."
Ogletree said this conference was exceptional in everyway.
"The Georgia team made the experience for all thirty-nine states and eight countries exciting and inspirational. So many expressed how the warm southern hospitality made them feel comfortable and welcomed. Their teamwork was viewed through the well-organized overall conference," said Ogletree.
