Georgia Parole Review
The State Board of Pardons and Paroles engages
stakeholders, communities, criminal justice
agencies, considered public safety partners, and
continues training for employees. This
engagement enhances public safety.During the
latter part of 2022 and early 2023 agency
leadership and staff participated in many
events.
Parole Board Vice Chair Jacqueline Bunn and
Board Member Meg Heap attended the 2022
Georgia Commission on Family Violence
Conference in Athens last September.
Vice Chair Bunn is also a member of the Georgia
Commission on Family Violence (GCFV). “The
2022 Georgia Commission on Family Violence
conference theme was: Widening the Lens: An
Inclusive Response to Family Violence. A wide
lens camera allows you to capture as much of a
scene as possible. The keynote speakers and
training workshops helped attendees gain
greater insights regarding the depth and breadth
of issues surrounding family violence. The event
also served as a call to action for advocates to
continue working to end domestic violence. The
first post-pandemic in-person conference went
off without a hitch. Director April Ross and her
staff are to be commended for executing a
dynamic conference," said Vice Chair Bunn.
This was the 28th annual GCFV conference.
Parole Board staff and the Georgia Office of
Victim Services
Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law
Enforcement Executive's (NOBLE) annual training
conference in Atlanta late in 2022. The event
hosted NOBLE members and other law
enforcement professionals from across the
country.
