Parole staff attended the Women Working in Corrections and Juvenile Justice National Conference last October. The conference is held every two years and provides training sessions and workshops covering leadership development for attendees. The 2021 conference was open to all women working in the corrections and juvenile justice field in any discipline, including peace officers, healthcare providers, administrators, and executives.

The Parole Board provided conference attendees with information about the parole process in Georgia. In addition, staff attended several workshops gaining valuable leadership skills and learning about trends in corrections. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles workforce is 80 percent female.

Georgia Office of Victim Services Deputy Director Keir Chapple recently graduated from the Fall Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) Chief Executive Training Class. The GACP course goals include increasing the professional development of law enforcement professionals. Previous parole graduates of the training are Executive Director of Parole Chris Barnett and Field Services Director Felecia Holloway.
