WHY YOU
WANT TO
E.L.F. ®
YOUR
BUSINESS
I
started out as a dead-broke
carpet cleaner living off credit
cards and struggling year after
year. I had been reading a
number of books to teach myself
how to become more successful,
but I was still missing something. I
needed an ability to communicate the
value I delivered to people so they would
hire me and pay me for my services. that made running a business hard,
annoying, lame, and frustrating, which
I call a HALF business. Occasionally,
a business could be hard, annoying,
lucrative, and frustrating. But if you
have to struggle and you’re not enjoying
your business, what’s the point? If you
follow the advice of everyone else as
well as traditional thinking, you almost
always wind up with a HALF business.
All the conventional wisdom and
knowledge about marketing I had
learned in college never seemed to work.
I quickly discovered that there were
two ways to run any type of business.
First, there was the traditional way Then I discovered a contrarian way of
running a business that wasn’t difficult,
time-consuming, or troublesome.
In fact, this contrarian way of
thinking made running any business

To many people, E.L.F. is a new concept
because everyone thinks that running
a business must be hard, annoying,
lame, and frustrating, and that’s just
part of what you need to go through
to succeed in business. What I’m here
to tell you is that any business, even
yours, can be E.L.F. so you can make
more money, have more free time,
and do less work. There’s a lot more
to living than forcing yourself to go
through a HALF business or life.
I had to work really hard to build
an E.L.F. (Easy, Lucrative & Fun)
business. Creating momentum is more
difficult than maintaining momentum.
