The teacher tells the students that they will study the lesson in the library. All
students in the classroom go down to the library. In the first 5 minutes of the
lesson, students are asked to read book quietly. However, flute and melodic
sounds come from the music class next to the library. The students were
disturbed by the sounds coming from the music room while reading a book. The
students were asked to search for a solution about this problem.
The teacher tells the students the importance of sound insulation. The solution
asks them to think about sound insulation. They measure the width, length and
height of the music room. Lengths are reduced to a certain extent and the model
of the music room is made. A smart phone is put into the model and the music is
turned on. Sound is measured from outside the model. The interior of the model
is covered with styrofoam, cotton and fabric in sequence. Sound measurement is
done again. It is observed that the sound is less heard.
While making this design, students find the other when given one of the two
multiplications by giving ratio and make predictions to prevent the propagation
of sound, and test its predictions.
