ept. 11, 2001, is a day that few will ever forget. Individuals and
groups nationwide find numerous ways to honor the victims
and fallen heroes of the 2001 terrorist attack, and those people are

This year, on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, several local
firefighters made a visit to their local Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia,
and Lindsay, Ontario, locations to climb 110 flights of stairs on
one of the club’s machines – symbolizing the number of flights of
stairs the World Trade Center buildings once contained.

“We had two members, who are local Lindsay, Ontario,
firefighters, come into the gym fully garbed in their gear to show
respect for their fallen brothers and sisters on the anniversary of
the 9/11 disaster,” said Adam Levesque, general manager for the
Taymax Fitness location, which is owned by Tim Kelleher and Kyle
Nagel. “Take to heart the fact that we work at an amazing company
that promotes One Planet and that no matter where things happen
in the world, we are all connected, and we can all do our part.”
Kelly Joyce, a local firefighter in the Fort Oglethorpe area
and a member of a Meridian Enterprises PF® club, went to Planet
Fitness with his son to partake in a similar stair climb.
“Those guys that day climbed 110 floors knowing they were
going to give their life to try to rescue random people, but they
did it anyway,” said Joyce. “The least I could do is gear up in a
controlled environment and climb. To do it with my son made it
