Board of Directors
Continued from Page 21
Boston, Massachusetts, since 1993. After
9/11, the business went through a downturn and we were fortunate to convert our
existing club into a Planet Fitness.
What is your favorite thing about
the brand? Working with other franchisees, hearing stories of their success and
sharing best practices. We have one big
family here. There are great operators in
the system and I am constantly learning
everyday while having the opportunity to
change the lives of not only our members
but the opportunity we are delivering
to dedicated staff that are serious about
making a career with my organization.
What do you look forward to accomplishing during your term? The PFIFA
experience has been a breath of fresh air
and is a natural part of the progression of
a mature, robust franchise system. I am
proud to have been involved in the process
from the beginning. Solidifying the franchisee/franchisor relationship for the long
term should be the high level concern of
anyone who serves on this board.

2015 Issue 1 GearedUp
In your opinion, what is the biggest
challenge currently facing PF Franchisees? Finding quality real estate
and competing with another low price
competitor in your market are the two
greatest risk factors we face as multiple
club operators in any market.

In your opinion, what is the most valuable benefit franchisees get for their
PFIFA dues? What we accomplished this
past year with the changes made for the
2015 FA would not have occurred if the legal
committee and the board members where
not fully engaged. The needle was moved
significantly and it’s a testament to Chris
Rondeau’s vision long term and protecting
franchisees in the system. Having a group
recognized by corporate whose interest are
in line with protecting franchisees is invaluable for a system of this size.
What do you do for fun? Most of my
weekends are absorbed coaching my two
sons on the courts and ball fields. I try
to relax and spend quality time with my
family and close friends.
Tell us a little about your family: I
have been married to my wife, Nikki for 14
years we have three sons, Stanley III (13),
Nicolas (12) and Dominic (six months).
We live in Boca Raton, Florida.
What charitable or community
organizations are you involved with?
Many, but we love Make-A-Wish® and
donate annually to help children in need
advance their dream.
What is your favorite exercise/
workout? My favorite exercise is my
morning bike ride down by the beach.
It clears my head, gives me a chance to
center myself and be able to tackle all the
challenges I am faced with daily while
growing the company in a fast-paced
environment.
What do you do for fun? Read, ski,
bike, golf, boat, spend time with the
family—especially the grandchildren.

How did you get into the PF system
and what drew you to the brand? My

personal friend.
What is your favorite thing about the
brand? The value that we bring to the
members; the quality of what the brand
stands for; the high integrity; experienced
and very collaborative franchisees.
What do you look forward to accomplishing during your term? The key for
me was to help the association get started
and then let others run with it. My term
ends October 2015.
In your opinion, what is the biggest
challenge currently facing PF franchisees? Ensure quality growth that is
enduring and ensure the brand everywhere
is uniformly living up to the brand promise.
In your opinion, what is the most
valuable benefit franchisees get for
their PFIFA dues? The ability to recruit
the talent in the franchisee base to focus
on high-return projects in collaboration
with corporate. For example, the Visionary
project, equipment negotiations and
many other initiatives to extend our value
propositions. There is a lot of talent in the
franchisee base.

How did you get into the PF system and
what drew you to the brand? We were
watching this concept called Planet Fitness
grow like crazy and kill every competitor in its
path…was there really a choice?
What is your favorite thing about the
brand? A compelling brand positioning
that attracts and helps so many people
along with a simple and scalable operational model.
What do you look forward to accomplishing during your term? Working
with the franchisees, PF corporate and
fellow PFIFA board members to improve
and protect the PF brand.
In your opinion, what is the biggest
challenge currently facing PF franchisees? Increased competition and
aging/outdated facilities (many of which
need to be relocated). We are entering a
time when we need to be strategic if we
are going to be successful in protecting
and growing market share.
