The first half of 2020 was an interesting – and challenging – start to the year for all of us . In addition to supporting Planet Fitness ® closings and reopenings amid the COVID-19 pandemic , ABC Financial has also been laser-focused on product delivery .
ABC has continued to demonstrate our commitment to Planet Fitness throughout this unprecedented time . We have aligned more tightly with headquarters and collaborated closely with the franchise working groups . As a result , we have delivered 23 Planet Fitness-specific software enhancements since March .
Let ’ s take a look at a few significant improvements to the Planet Fitness interface .
Club Capacity Management
One of the most significant improvements we ’ ve made for Planet Fitness is the implementation of Club Capacity Management . The feature is now integrated with the Planet Fitness website and its DataTrak API , which automatically aggregates gym capacity information from each franchise . Capacity information is then relayed to the member , who can monitor and choose their workout times based on how many members are working out at any given time .
For members planning a trip to their local Planet Fitness , the Crowd Meter displayed on the club locator and club home page will update with that location ’ s current capacity . As of August 2020 , Club Capacity Management has been adopted by every Planet Fitness franchise .
The new capacity tool features another very special improvement : automated member checkout . Now , members are automatically checked out after a certain period of time following check-in . This eliminates the need for gym personnel to actively monitor and track who is coming and going . by Keith Lansdale
CCM Outbound Sales & Promotions
Now , when there are national sales promotions , the new plan ’ s display rules will hide all other CCM offers . For example , if there ’ s a national sale or promotion , the display will hide all other local CCM offers to reduce time , confusion and the need to search for the right offer . This feature not only makes it easy for front desk staff to find the most applicable offer , but it also reduces confusion and friction during the sign-up process and no longer leaves choosing promotions at the staff ’ s discretion .
Streamlined Tablet Sign-up Process We started Q3 of 2020 by enhancing and streamlining the in-club tablet sign-up process . The purpose of this particular update is to prompt club tablets to only display the most applicable offers to the new member at the time . Additionally , the tablets feature more customer-friendly verbiage .
Tablet sign-up is designed to eliminate barriers to entry for the member . Duplicate membership types have been eliminated so as not to cloud the potential member ’ s decision-making process .
Additionally , the tablet sign-up process features newly named options for the member or the front desk staff to choose from . These names reflect the offering more accurately from the hard-to-remember names of the past . All offering names are now
