Celebrations
Birthdays:
We enjoy celebrating birthdays and special events.
If your child is having a birthday you are welcome to send along a cake and we will make your child’ s day special.
Our preference is individual patty cakes- please ensure that there are NO nuts or nut products in the cake. A plain cake recipe is best. For numbers in your child’ s playroom please ask the staff.
You are also welcome to join us for the Birthday ritual- when we blow out the candles and make a big fuss. Please advise staff that you intend to come along- otherwise we may have it before you arrive.
Other Celebrations:
Australia is a multiculturally diverse society- an amalgamation of subcultures which are spread all over our multicultural country. Our own community reflects the diversity of the broader Australian community with all major religious faiths represented and people from every corner of our world.
Our future is shaped by every one of these diverse cultures, the languages we speak, the customs we practice and the knowledge we can share. Each multicultural community makes a valuable cultural contribution to our nation at large, we all enhance and sustain our diverse way of life, culture, customs and life ' s balance.
We can all experience the wonders of multiculturalism if only we would open our hearts and our minds to the thought-provoking history and spellbinding discoveries which can be uncovered within every culture around our world and within our country.
Lets join together to celebrate our cultural differences and cultural diversity and value our similarities as equal human beings on this planet of ours.

We try to focus some of the traditional family celebrations which are often part of special religious days or events.
We do celebrate Christmas and Easter, Diwali, Holi, Eid al-Fitr and Hannukah.
Acknowledging First Nation
We will also acknowledge a number of significant days that are important to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community- National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.
Special days like Mothers Day and Fathers Day may be represented by a special morning tea, rather than a prescribed craft or gift.
We do like to celebrate special times- a new baby, going on a trip; new pet etc.
We try to focus on what is important to the child.
If you would like to know more about what we do or have comments on celebrations please feel free to talk to the staff.
