Q: How did you get in to trucking?
When I was growing up, I had 5 uncles that were truck drivers. Back then, you had to
be 25 to be a truck driver. When I was 24, I was working in sales for a company and
one day, I stopped for lunch at a Truck Stop and saw a sign to learn how to drive
truck.
Q: What’s your best driving memory so far?
After 17 years of being a company driver, I bought my 1st truck and became an Owner-Operator.
Q: Best trip of your career?
When I delivered to Newfoundland. In my 35 years, I have been to every US State
and every Canadian Province.

Q: How did you get in to truck & trailer mechanics and the trucking industry?
My grandfather was a blacksmith and my father a mechanic. I always liked to work
with my hands and figure out solutions to problems. The Windsor economy collapsed
the year I graduated so I took a job repairing truck tires and later got hired at GBT.
Q: What’s your best memory so far?
I don’t have a best memory in the industry but I am happy that I was able to start at
ground level and work my way up. Having the ability to keep my staff for 20 plus years
and see their families grow is my best memory
Q: Best advise you received from someone in the trucking industry?
“Don't take it personal.” Easy to say; hard to live by.

Q: Why did you want to be a mechanic?
My father was a tool maker, my brother was an electrician, my sister was a hair dresser – so
the family needed a mechanic!! I found that I was good at taking broken things apart and
figuring out how to fix them and put them back together. All mechanical things were of interest to me
Q: What’s your best memory working for Gorski/Rentco?
When I came to Canada, my first job was working for Mr. & Mrs. Gorski – and I really liked
working here. I work hard to do a good job for Gorski & still like working here after all these
years.
Q: Best advise for someone getting started in the trade
