“I’m most proud of having my work worn on so
many television shows, especially The Vampire
Diaries, which at the time was my favorite show
and a personal goal of mine. Another moment that
stands out is being selected as a featured artisan for
Handmade at Amazon.”
Tell us about your shop and the idea behind it.
Starletta Designs is a unique handmade jewelry brand where all of my work
is made in my home studio in Ontario, Canada and is perfect for women that
love trendy, colorful accessories.
What made you start your small business?
My business began in 2007 as a creative outlet and grew from my love of
gemstones. My mother was always a very crafty and DIY person and she
passed that passion onto me at a young age.
What do you enjoy most about not having a day job?
About 2 years ago now I finally made the jump to full time, which has always
been my dream to do. I was at the point in my business where the demand for
my products was too large and there weren’t enough hours in the day to grow
my business and continue working 40 hours a week outside my home studio.
The best decision I ever made was finally taking that leap of faith. I love that
I can now do what I love, work from home and am my own boss!
