— F E AT U R ED A R T IS A N — How did you approach building your brand? I approached is rather slowly. I had to learn all the tricks to social media and discovered how important it is. I found a wonderful company to help me with my logo and create business cards and tags for the products so they could be sold in stores. How has your process and relationship to your work evolved? In the beginning I was still learning all the different ways to make the collars. I have now found my favorite way to make quality collars. I make a lot of the strips for the collars now to keep on hand. It has helped as I work with a national company dogIDs.com to make collars for them. They engrave the buckles and then send them to me so I can make the personalized collar and mail it. What is the biggest challenge you face during your daily schedule? Finding the time to get everything done while making sure there is time for a walk with Cubby, time with friends and family and sleep. I always want to make sure Cubby knows he is loved. He does have a bed in the room that is Montana Grrl Critter Gear “headquarters” so he spends a lot of time inspecting the quality of the products. Are there any moments that stand out for you over the years? Any accolades or awards you’re most proud of? I was recently named the business partner of the month by The Humane Society of Western Montana. They are my local shelter and I adopted Cubby, my Scottie, there. They changed their Facebook page to my pink color and posted pictures and my website. It was a great honor. TAGazine | 7
