On behalf of the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank , we are honored to invite you to attend our tenth annual Chefs , Cork & Craft Gala : Hang Ten !
This year ’ s gala theme , Hang Ten !, celebrates the tenth anniversary of what has become one of the Food Bank ’ s signature events which raises critical funds for the Food Bank ’ s vital mission in the community . This year ’ s gala will take place outside , under the stars , on the grounds of the San Diego Food Bank ’ s 90,000-square-foot facility to ensure the safety of our guest attendees .
We enthusiastically embraced the challenge and opportunity to transform the grounds of the San Diego Food Bank ’ s working warehouse into a stunning dinner venue for our gala guests . Guests will enjoy coastal chic décor that pays homage the heritage of our local surfing culture with natural landscape elements of the coast that will be punctuated with whimsical surfing motifs to create a sophisticated yet lively ambiance .
Every year , our gala features volunteer chefs from our local community who volunteer their time and talent to create an exquisite dinner for our gala guests , and this year will be no exception as we have some of our region ’ s most celebrated chefs supporting this year ’ s event . The Food Bank ’ s gala is an entertaining event for a very important cause as it honors the Food Bank and its mission providing food assistance to children , families , and seniors facing food insecurity in our community .
Funds raised from the gala will support the Food Bank ’ s vital hunger-relief programs that continue to serve record numbers due to the lasting impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and inflation at a 40-year high , which combined makes it more difficult for struggling , lowincome families to get back on their feet . The evening will include exciting live musical acts during the cocktail reception and after the dinner program , amazing silent and live auction items , and a program highlighting the mission of the Food Bank in our region .
