50 years . We started out serving just three cities in Texas . We now fly to 122 destinations across the U . S . - adding routes to San Diego in 1982 - and other countries . In 2014 , we began international travel and since the

start of the pandemic , we have seen enormous growth adding flights to 18 highly desired destinations like Miami , Palm Springs , Santa Barbara , Fresno in the last year . We continue to add relevant destinations for the San Diego community such as nonstop service to the Hawaiian Islands and Norfolk , Virginia . Today , Southwest Airlines claims the title of America ’ s largest domestic airline . We credit this success to our people-centric culture , world famous hospitality , believing that we are not just an airline , we are your neighbor .
