The Friends of the Flint
Hills Community Health
Center held their biannual
meeting on Monday.
The group was established
to help promote and support
the efforts of the health center. They do so by offering the
Arlene Eichorn Scholarship
annually, supporting the Ellen Greisher Memorial Fund
and granting other requests
from the health center.
Harry Stephens pro vided the financial report.
The group maintains two
funds with the Emporia
Community Foundation,
an endowed fund and a
selection this year went
to Morgan Murphey. She
wrote us a note thanking
us for the scholarship.”
Anyone wishing to become a member of the
Friends of the Flint Hills
Community Health Center
can attend and become a
member at a monthly meeting. A two-year membership
is $10 and a lifetime membership is $50. For additional information email a_

says that the group paid
out scholarships for 2014
and 2015 in the amount
of $1,000 and provided
FHCHC with educational
grants in the amount of
$1,750.
“Looking at all that, I
think we have had a productive two years, in my
opinion,” Stephens said.
Since 2010 the Friends
of the Flint Hills Community Health Center have
awarded five scholarships
to local students.
“We received five applicants for the scholarship and out of those we
could only select one,” Alice Brockhouse said. “The
