testing can be done in the site using sensors connected to a mobile device like a smartphone. This new product saves an enormous amount of time and expenditure in the construction industry. The project was started targeting the annual Hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Engineering. The idea was based on a research by Mr. Janaka Priyanth, a postgraduate researcher under the guidance of Prof. S. B. S. Abeykoon from the Department of Civil Engineering. CIAME is the largest Agricultural machinery exhibition in Asia which was held in China with 1900 exhibitors from 14 countries, on an exhibition area of 200,000 m2. The exhibition is open to around 130,000 visitors from 60 countries. The exhibition was held at Chinese city of Qingdao at the brand new Qingdao World Expo City International Exhibition Centre where most modern exhibition facilities were offered. This was an annual meeting place for dealers, manufacturers and importers of agricultural machinery providing an ideal business platform. TEAM SCORPION comprising Chameera Premasiri, Kavindu Sasanka, Pramod Sandaruwan, Dimuthu Eranga and Ranga Dayawansha, representing the Robotics Society of the faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya took part in CIAME, and won the second place and also the special award for the best performance among 48 teams from all over the World. We congratulate all the winners, the staff and their well-wishers for these remarkable achievements of the faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya which brought fame and pride to Sri Lanka as well.
