Awards
and
Scholarships
The
Guidance
office
is
pleased
to
announce
numerous
awards
received
by
some
of
our
high
school
juniors.
There
are
several
community-‐sponsored
programs,
which
select
students
from
various
towns
to
participate.
All
eligible
students
are
interviewed
by
organization
members
and
selected
through
a
variety
of
criteria.
Westville
Women’s
Club
has
chosen
to
sponsor
Brittany
McCullough
and
Dana
Bell
to
attend
the
Girls
Career
Institute,
which
is
held
at
Douglas
College
on
the
campus
of
Rutgers
University
in
New
Brunswick.
Wenonah
Women’s
Club
selected
Alex
Astorga
for
Girls
Career
Institute
in
New
Brunswick.
All
of
the
students
participated
in
the
conference
during
June.
Dan
Ream
and
Tanvir
Bashar
were
chosen
by
the
Woodbury
Rotary
Organization
to
attend
the
Rotary
Youth
Leadership
Conference
at
The
Richard
Stockton
College
of
New
Jersey
in
June.
The
Wenonah
American
Legion
chose
Kyle
Bright
and
Bill
Norris
to
attend
the
NJ
Boys
State
Conference,
which
was
held
at
Rider
University
in
June.
Girls
State
was
held
at
Georgian
Court
University
where
the
Wenonah
American
Legion
Auxiliary
sponsored
Greta
Colman
and
Olivia
Lombardo.
Alternate
is
Isabella
Armento.

Several
juniors
were
selected
to
receive
certificates
and
medals
for
their
overall
success
in
the
areas
of
math,
science
and
the
humanities:
Jacob
Fayette
received
the
Rensselaer
medal
and
certificate.
Qualifications
for
this
medal
include
being
in
the
top
10%
of
the
junior
class
as
well
as
excelling
in
math
and
science
courses.
Students
also
need
to
demonstrate
a
potential
for
success
in
a
vigorous
academic
setting
and
by
actively
participating
in
extracurricular
activities.
Kyle
Bright
received
the
George
Washington
University
Medal
presented
by
the
School
of
Engineering
and
Applied
Science
at
George
Washington
University.
Kyle
obtained
one
of
the
highest
grade
point
averages
in
the
fields
of
math
and
science.
He
was
also
a
standout
leader
both
in
and
out
of
the
classroom.
The
Bausch
and
Lomb
Honorary
Science
medal
and
certificate
was
presented
to
Jessica
Saunders
for
exceling
in
Science.
