Students
from
Gateway’s
four
sending
districts,
National
Park,
Parkview,
Wenonah
and
Woodbury
Heights
joined
Gateway
middle
school
students
on
Wednesday,
April
9th
for
the
third
annual
Gateway
Music
Festival.
The
students,
directed
by
their
individual
music
directors
Mr.
Meson
Banas,
Mrs.
Becky
Oman,
Mrs.
Jen
Sikorski,
Mr.
Bill
Trimble
and
Mr.
Jason
Straub
performed
beautiful
renditions
of
The
Star
Spangled
Banner;
Thunderbird
Spirit;
We
Are
Young;
You
Raise
Me
Up;
the
Angry
Birds
Theme;
Big
Bang
Theory;
Conquest;
The
Best
of
Glee;
Cups
(When
I’m
Gone);
and
America,
the
Beautiful.
The
talented
students
blended
the
expertise
of
their
individual
instruments
together
to
create
a
series
of
toe-‐tapping
musical
selections,
which
was
rewarded
with
a
standing
ovation
from
the
audience.
Students
and
staff
at
Gateway
Regional
High
School
donated
a
cherished
gift
to
cancer
victims
–
their
own
hair,
used
to
make
wigs
for
the
people
who
need
them
most.
On
a
cold,
blustery
day
in
February
the
Locks
of
Love
hairdressers
came
to
Gateway
and
lopped
off
ponytails
at
least
10
inches
in
length
from
each
participant.
It
takes
six
10-‐inch
ponytails
to
make
one
wig
–
Gateway
had
eleven
–
almost
enough
to
make
two!
All
of
the
girls
were
happy
to
donate
and
they
look
as
lovely
with
their
shorter
hair-‐styles
as
they
did
with
the
longer
versions.
