Gateway  Spring  Musical       Gateway   Regional   High   School’s   musical   production   of   The   Secret   Garden   was   a   play   that   started   with   darkness   and   tragedy,   emerging   into   a   story   of   hope,   triumph,   and   beauty.       The   students   did   a   phenomenal  job  depicting  the  sad  little  girl  from  India  who  recently  lost  her  parents,  sent  to  live  with   her  equally  sad  uncle  who  had  just  lost  his  wife.  With  help  from  the  spirit  of  the  uncle’s  wife  and  a   host   of   other   souls   (both   living   and   departed)   the   pair   learns   about   love,   trust,   and   belief   in   the   beauty  of  this  world  once  again.       The   souls   of  Mary   Lennox’s   aunt   and   others   watch   over   Mary   while   she   lay   sleeping   after   the   cholera   epidemic  in  India  takes  her   loved   ones   and   friends,   leaving   her   alone   in   the   world.               Upon   awakening,   soldiers   sent   by   Uncle   Archibald   inform   Mary   of   her   parent’s   sudden   demise   and   tell   her   they   will   bring   her   to   her   uncle’s   mansion  in  Yorkshire.
