Traffic Crash Data
Types of Crashes
The traffic safety program actively educates the community. The department partners with Garner Magnet High School for an anti-texting campaign,“ Click It or Ticket,” and participates in the Public Safety Academy. Fatal Vision Goggles, combined with the DWI golf cart, provide simulated intoxicated driving scenarios for students at the high school. Child seat installations and inspections are scheduled periodically through an appointment-based system. This system allows our officers to provide dedicated time for parents to ensure that their child’ s seats are installed correctly.
The Garner Police Department remains dedicated to enhancing traffic safety by collaborating with the Governor’ s Highway Safety Program( GHSP). GHSP primarily focuses on reducing alcoholrelated crashes, increasing seat belt compliance, promoting motorcycle safety, and conducting speed enforcement through various campaigns such as“ Booze It and Lose It,”“ Click It or Ticket,” and“ BikeSafe” to help raise awareness.
