Patrick McGuire (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Kevin Pena (Police) received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate. Nathan Price (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school and received his Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Certificate. Ethan Ramsey (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Skyler Reeve (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Tyler Rose (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Michael Simon (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Justin Smith (Police) was selected and completed Field Training Officer school and received his Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. Bobby Wilder (Police) received his Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. OTHER RECOGNITIONS Michael Beverley (Police) was awarded a Life-Saving Award for his part in saving the life of a gentleman that attempted suicide. Joe Binns (Police) was awarded the Garner Mid-Day Rotary Rotarian of the year. James Cuoco (Police) was awarded a Life-Saving Award for his part in saving the life of a gentleman that had overdosed. Grant Davis (Police) was recognized with an award for Outstanding Public Service to the citizens of Garner by the “Garner First Responders Organization.” Patrick Lee (Police) was awarded a Departmental Commendation for leading the Department with 22 DWI arrests. Joe Binns was named Garner Mid-Day Rotary Rotarian of the Year in 2019. Patrick McGuire (Police) was assigned as a BikeSafe Instructor and Coordinator, as well as being certified as a Child Safety Seat Technician. Mike McIver (Police) was recognized by the Exchange Clubs of Wake County for his work and commitment to the Garner PAAL program over the last nine years. Nathan Price (Police) was selected as the “Rob Apple Officer of the Year” by his peers. He was also awarded a Life-Saving Award for his part in saving the life of a gentleman that had overdosed.
