Tornadoes, storms leave 43 dead in United States.
Deadly extreme weather on at least five
continents is driven in large part by a record
breaking El Nino. A climate expert at the
French weather service studies “Metro
France” reported that it is probably the most
powerful tornado in the last 100 years.
Flooding and mudslides, unleashed by
torrential rains have killed at least 10 people

homes in Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.

Everest have Shrunk above 1/4th
Glacier over 40 years (Times of India

Recently, a report on Himalayan glaciers
says that glaciers on Mount Everest have
shrunk by 28% over the past 40 years. In
Nepal, 26% glaciers have decreased by

getting
warmer during the last 50 years. All these
data is based on remote sensing and
monitoring report conducted by Chinese
Academy of Science (CAS). At present,
there are 1476 glacier in China’s Mount
Qomolangma, covering 2030 sq. km. The
shrinking glaciers have resulted in swelling
of glacial lakes and higher rivers level
downstream. Remote sensing data indicates
that area of a glacier lake in Mount Everest
has increased from about 100 sq.km. in 1990
to 114 sq.km. in 2013. A number of
scientists also give a warning that glaciers of
Hindukush-Himalayan region will reduce
their volume by 70-90% by 2100. As Mount
Everest is the source of major Asian rivers
viz. Brahmaputra, Ganges etc. thereby,
