REVIEW

Realm of the Mad God (PC)

Genre/Theme: Fantasy MMO, 2D Shooter, Co-op

- The game uses fantasy aspects and adds co-operative gameplay for a fun

Point of View: Aerial/Viewed from above

- The game's point of view is aerial, the view is also rotatable allowing for many angles of movement.

Style: 8-Bit Graphics, Fantasy, Multiplayer

- The graphics style is 8-bit which may only attract a select few gamers. Due to newer games using high detail 3D models, the graphics style of Realm is pretty old.

Central Concept: Fight the minions of the Mad God with your friends.

- The game is heavily co-op based, if you play alone, you don't have your friend covering your weaknesses. In the game, you only get one chance with your character, if you die, you lose the character and everything it had and must create a new one. There are 14 unique classes each offering a different play style. The wizard can deal high damage from a safe range but has low defense and cannot take many hits. The knight is very bulky and can take many hits while still dealing a large amount of damage but must fight at close range. The rogue is a fast character that can dodge projectiles and become invisible, it fights at medium range and can put out quite a lot of damage. When different classes work together, they can push through difficult dungeons and defeat the minions of the Mad God. You start out with low tier equipment and must work your way to top tier gear dropped by Oryx the Mad God himself.
