DAWES PLAYS IN KHL ALL-STAR
GAME AT HOME
Winnipeg’s Nigel Dawes enjoyed
every minute of his job as the captain
of Chernyshev Division in the 2018
KHL All-Star game, or as it’s called in
the KHL, The Week of Hockey Stars.
This season’s Week of Hockey Stars
was held in Astana, Kazakhstan,
Dawes’ home for the past seven
seasons. This year, at age 32, he’s
enjoyed a tremendous year with 31
goals and 46 points in 40 games.
This season, in front of the home
crowd, Dawes took part in his fourth
KHL All-Star game. It never gets old.
“Each time, I get together with
the guys I know from the league
at an informal celebration I always
make new friends,” he said. “Besides,
any call-up to the All-Star Game is
recognition of the work you’ve done
for your team and its proof that
you’re having a pretty good season.”
Dawes is not only the captain of
