make it in the NHL, but I have my high school and I have good marks to back up my diploma, so if nothing happens with pro hockey, I’ d be happy to take my WHL university money and go play in the CIS someplace.” Last season, Langan( Dec. 15, 1998 birthday) split his time between the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’ s Swan Valley Stampeders and the Western League’ s Warriors. He had 11 goals and 38 points in 33 games in Swan Valley and then had three goals and 12 points in 38 games in the WHL. For a young man who played all his minor hockey in Swan River, playing in Moose Jaw has been an easy transition.“ It’ s pretty good in Moose Jaw, it’ s a great organization,” he said.“ I’ ve met a lot of great guys here and it’ s a really good staff. They just help me get better every day.”
Langan was selected in the ninth round( 183rd overall) in the 2013 WHL bantam draft( the same year Moose Jaw picked Oakbank’ s Brett Howden with its first pick), and there is little doubt that he’ s come a long way. He played two seasons with Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship and had some great seasons in bantam and midget. After playing for the Parkland Bantam AAA club in 2012-13, he played for the Parkland Rangers midgets in 2013-14 and had 17 goals and 45 points in 44 games. In 2014-15, he had 12 goals and 25 points in 58 games with the MJHL’ s Stampeders and then, last year, had his first real taste of the WHL. A 6-foot, 195-pounder with great wheels, Langan can play leftwing or centre. Because he played so well in Swan Valley at the start of last year, he got the call from Moose Jaw at Christmas. Although he’ d been cut
