let's put a smile on that face

ablaze like nearly any event that premiers at Hall H at San Diego ComicCon.

The more intimate feel of WonderCon help to differentiate itself from other shows. A much larger focus on content creators is always a good thing for both fans and the industry as a whole. The same organization the runs the world-famous San Diego ComicCon, put on WonderCon. I enjoy that there is an option for those that can’t get tickets to San Diego ComicCon still have the option of attending a really great show, by the same people. Every year WonderCon grows, so the fear among many is that WonderCon will go the way of ComicCon and become bigger than the hosts initial intentions. While ComicCon has become a big marketing extravaganza, I really hope WonderCon keeps the more indie charm that it promotes.

Like at any comic based convention, cosplay is a major part of the whole event. Wandering around the floor, you will see all sorts of costumes. Elaborate costumes with layers upon layers of leather, lace and foam to the more simple weekend endeavors that anyone can make. That’s the beautiful thing here, no matter your skill level with a sewing machine you are welcomed with open arms. Comic conventions are an incredible microcosm of people. I have never been surrounded by so many people, crammed into such a small place and yet, everyone around couldn’t be nicer.

Our staff photographer caught some of the best and most unique cosplay's from this years convention, while partaking in a bit as well

"People from far and wide came out to show off their best cosplay's. "
