Augmented Reality has taken something of a backseat to Virtual
Reality’s resurgence, recent of late. But Lenovo’s trying to change
that with their Mirage. And said Mirage only currently has one
game in development: Star Wars Jedi Challenges.
Star Wars Gets Its Own AR Experience
The game features three modes to go with that Lightsaber. The
first is obvious; a duel mode that lets you face off against several
Sith Lords in Lightsaber combat (protip: go for the legs on Darth
Vader and Darth Maul). The second is a form of Real Time
Strategy game, which lets you point and choose options using the
Lightsaber as a controller. The third, well… the third is Dejarik.
The Lightsaber seems to be pretty well constructed, and comes
with a rechargeable battery. The Beacon unit (that pink thing)
uses 2 AA batteries, and needs to be placed properly for each
game. The headset is, from all accounts, fairly light and
unobstructive. All you’d need is an Android/iOS smartphone
with the proper specs, and you’re good to go.
The whole thing will be sold as a set. The Star Wars: Jedi
Challenges pack will go up for pre-order on September first on
Best Buy and Lenovo’s site for $199. The set will launch proper
sometime in November.
Capcom Announces The Return of Puzzle Fighter
Never have I been so excited about a bit of news only to immediately sour on the idea before I even finished reading it. Puzzle Fighter was a lovely
little title that is close to my heart, to the point I own it on multiple consoles including and arcade cabinet.
The sequel to one of the most popular puzzle games of all time comes to mobile in the all new Puzzle Fighter. Developed by Capcom Vancouver from
the ground up, the classic arcade puzzle game gets modernized with a new look and new features for free download on iPhone, iPad and Android
devices. The game will be coming soon for soft-launch in select countries and a global release is planned for late 2017.
Puzzle Fighter features a roster of legendary
characters and stages from popular Capcom
franchises. Fan-favorites such as Ryu, Ken or Chun-Li
(Street Fighter), X (Mega Man), Morrigan
(Darkstalkers), Frank West (Dead Rising) and more
come to life with VO and cinematic special moves.
Players pick one main character each with their own
strengths and benefits, to face-off in explosive gem-
crushing action. In addition, two assist characters can
be chosen to further enhance the abilities of the main
character.
Simple to learn but deep in strategy, this highly
addictive puzzle game has players strategically
building up gems and destroying them to unleash epic
combos that can knock out their opponent. Thrilling
real-time versus battles, rewarding single player
options and an array of content to unlock await in this
ultimate puzzle fight.
