The first semi-final of the London senior football championship saw something of a surprise result when last year’s runners-up Fulham Irish were beaten by youthful side St. Kiernan’s recently at Ruislip. This game was played on Saturday Oct 3rd and turned out to be a rather dogged and low scoring match. This was a defensive battle all through with both sides finding scores very difficult to come by. At half time Kiernan’s held a slight advantage leading by 0-4 to 0-3 with the game there for the taking. The second half continued as the first in a defensive mood with both teams not able to dominate. St. Kiernan’s did manage to get the vital scores however and held on for a very narrow two point win 0-7 to 0-5.
