MAASTRICHT, HOLLAND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2015 Amsterdam did themselves proud when they ran, St. Brigid’s (Killashee) / Naomh Bríd, the County Longford junior champions close in last week’s 15- aside Leinster Junior Football Club Championship. The final score of 2-16 to 2-9 does not do the Amsterdam team justice as they lead the Longford side for a good portion of the match. Amsterdam had the Longford side worried early on as they led by 8 points at one stage in the first half having 10 grabbed two quick goals. Killashee came back into the game and went in at the break trailing by three points. Amsterdam started the second half with two quick points and although Killashee levelled things up, the Dutch side came back again and had a 2 point lead with 10 minutes left. However the Irish team used their experience well and had a storming finish scoring 1-3 without reply in the final six minutes.
