HURLING
With only one round played in the Hurling this year, Michael
Cusacks played Sydney Shamrocks to open the championship
season. The game was a replay of the League Final and created
the first upset with Shamrocks upsetting Cusack’s good run of
form. Shamrocks ran out comfortable by 1-5 victors.
Central Coast faced Craobh
Padraig in their first game. This
started as a one sided affair with
Coast dominating the first half
but a determined Craobh Padraig fought back in the second
half to narrow Coasts winning
score line to 9 points.
CAMOGIE
The only Camogie match in
the opening round saw Clan
Na Gael face tough opposition in the shape of Craobh
Padraig. This game was a great
battle to watch. Clan started
the first half well taking their
scores early but Craobh Padraig powered through to finish the stronger of the two
teams and secured the win.
The second round saw Central Coast up against Clan Na
Gael, after Clan lost their first
and they wanted to hit the
ground running this week,
but yet again it was the Coast
who proved to be too strong
for the Clan side.
