While the senior format was once again dominated by Abu
Dhabi team, the intermediate and junior titles had a better
spread across the region and further afield on Friday, March
27th at Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The ladies and
men’s senior teams of Abu Dhabi, just as they had done in the
league, came out best in this round-robin four team Middle
East GAA Championships at the Dubai Sports City facilities.
However, at the intermediate grade, the impressive Sharjah
Gaels won the men’s championship and the fancied Kuwait
Harps took the ladies title. There was an open draw for the
junior competitions – where a lot of locals and international

players get their chance to shine – with victories for visiting
teams from New Zealand taking the principle junior ladies
and men’s cups.

This is the 5th year for both the Middle East GAA league and
