the puck-outs were not what they were
in the first half and the Ostmen struggled to gain possession. The offensive
onslaught began in earnest as the cold
and wind wore upon the Ostmen. Some
sharp defense by the Ostmen veteran
Skip Hunter kept the game close for a
while, but the Tribesmen were not to
be denied. Strong defensive showings
by Max Smith, James Nabors, and Michael Griffith helped to contain the fits
and bursts from the Ostmen offense as
they attempted to jumpstart their comeback. The final whistle blew and saw the
Tribesmen win handily 5-8 to 3-3.

In acknowledgement of some great
play, the league captains have chosen to
recognize a Rookie of the Match and Play of the Match for
each game to date.
Play of the Match – Rebecca Allison Norman and her textbook block against Bronson Conlin. Everyone should have
been taking notes.
WEEK 1 DULLAHANS VS OSTMEN
Rookie of the Match – Jeremy Hancock for his ability to
keep a level head get the ball off the ground and clear it foreword continuously for the Dullahan’s defense.
WEEK 2 OSTMEN VS TRIBESMEN
Rookie of the Match – Fast Paulnareth Hem for awarding his team multiple goals and a point as well.
Play of the Match – Tyler Van
Sloten and Josh Parker for Tyler’s
finesse flick pass followed by Josh’s
catch and quick point. It was a perfect example of what good communication can lead to.

Special mention should be made
of the referees, linesmen, umpires,
and especially the supporters who
cheered on the players. It was a brutal morning of weather and their
dedication was appreciated.
