The runners-up, the Foggy Dew were led by the experienced Rynne brothers,
Declan who kicked some
marvellous points and the
agile shots-stopper, Davey.
They were supported by
the evergreen Robbie English as well as Knockaderry native Mossy Hartnett.
The ‘Dew outfit didn’t
know when they were
beaten and will surely regroup to give it another go
next year. Special mention
to Cara, back playing for
the dew outfit after an injury hit campaign.
The All-Star team was
announced after the finals
with each team nominating their “best n fairest”
players. Thoughts now
turn to 2015 and the next
social 9s.
Overall, the tournament
was a huge success with
the emphasis on new players learning ‘our beautiful
game’ and hopefully eager
to come back in January to
play more. Special mention to ‘Nails’ our tournaments committee person
who ran a smooth operation throughout.
The Social 9s trophy went to Bah Bahs captain duo of Paul and Eileen to bring the curtain down on
an action packed 6 week tournament. (Photo: Wellington GAA)
