The Gaelic Games Junior Academy of Perth was formed in 2012, organizing girls and boys from ages 4 to 14, in learning the skills of Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie. Teams form seven-a-side leagues and some exhibition games towards the end of the season. The Junior Academy in launching its 4th school term hopes to spread into new schools where they will coach teachers in an effort to get the game going in Primary schools. In December a Gaelic Football workshop took place at Beckenham Primary school , outside Perth, which is an identified hub school for the Southern Academy in Term 4. The Junior Academy operates every second Sunday, with children from all main streams of sport participating. The graduates have a clear pathway to club, State and even International representation.
