G3 Magazine/Reviews/Lego The Hobbit ISSUE 3 play option.(Consoles only) Now you are also able to play with friends using the wireless play (3DS & PS Vita), but you will need two copies of the game. Lego the Hobbit is the first Lego game that has taken full advantage of the Playstation 4 hardware. The lighting with a noticeable increase of visual fidelity makes way for a cleaner look and feel. The cooperative game-play of Lego the Hobbit is even more polished than previous Lego games. The dwarves has been given collaborative game-play, where they must continually help each other. This is complimented by the original abilities of each character as well as their unique abilities. One of the best things a player is allowed to do is they can change their weapons in the middle of a fight, to choose the best suited one for their enemy. The game is initially the same as the Hobbit movie and has used the licensed audio from Hobbit 1 and 2, along with humorous Lego visuals. The production value is high, with beautiful drawn illustrations between cinematics, giving the scenes context and reminding players what is going on in the story. The crafting system adds more incentive to the game than previous Lego games. All of the items you craft have a special function. From creating a cape that makes you slimy to more powerful weapons than the standard-issue ones, you are able to craft until you can no more! Unfortunately crafted items cant be used in story modes of levels, but they can be equipped during free-play and the Middle Earth sections. I just love Lego and rate this game a 8out of 10. -Zante Fouche’ G3 Magazine 45
