The scene at 9:30 when it had actually hit was not less than a horror movie, dogs crying, and table and fans vibrating by itself, only source of light that we could reach was candle and above all was the whistling noise of the wind. For an instance I felt like "life of pi" with just a missing tiger. In other words it was the same melodrama which our Hindi films depict as in when god descends down the earth. With so much happening all around I was quite lucky to be under strong shelter, the only prayer was not to cause any irreparable lossess.200km/hr was the wind speed all around me. Technically speaking, Phailin was of the speed of 200km/hr, eye of the cyclone struck gopalpur at around 9:30 it took 4hrs for it to pass by. I felt the name "PHAILIN" given to it was quite apt only when I went around the city the very next morning. The impact and the destruction caused was equivalent to effect if it was hit by stones. The morning sight was heart squenching.Intresting was not what happened last night, interesting was people’s attitude, no time to repent back to work, repairing the households, and market was all ready even in that aghast situation. Hats off to the spirit of people.
But there were still many people
like me inspecting the lanes, and
wandering over the question
-"why did it happen??Natures
fury?"
