Special Events The Office of Special Events (OSE) is staffed by a Deputy Chief, a Captain, and two grant-funded Emergency Management Planners. These four individuals work closely with numerous city departments and outside agencies to ensure the safety of guests at each special event. OSE is responsible for ensuring proper city permits are filed, developing public safety Event Action Plans, and coordinating with venue personnel and other city departments to ensure a successful event for all. A total of 328 deployments occurred in Fiscal 2016 with our members working 22,129 staff hours in 2,337 positions.
